There has been a lot of discussion lately about voiceover rates: know your value!
Think about this for a moment. If you charged bargain-basement rates, what would impression would that give a potential (or current client)? Sites like Fiverr and Upwork are filled with bottom-feeding talent. Either the client will believe you are not a working professional or will be inclined to take advantage of you.
Know Your Value
Just remember that what you do HAS VALUE. It doesn’t matter how many minutes it took you to record that particular audio. It doesn’t matter that the script is only a few words. Ask yourself what VALUE this piece of audio – the use of your voice – has to that client. What will the client be using it for, and what will THEIR return be? THAT is where the value of voiceover lies – usage!
